The 5th Industrial Carbon Management Forum: Unlocking Europe's Carbon Management Potential
Since 2021, the ICM Forum has been a pivotal platform, uniting diverse stakeholders from industry, national authorities, European institutions, NGOs, academia, and beyond. This year, the Forum takes on a new dimension, co-hosted by the European Commission and the Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company, under the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy. The event will be held in a hybrid format in Athens, Greece, on December 8-9, 2025.
The primary focus of the discussions will be on the legislative framework surrounding carbon management. This includes the establishment of a robust internal market and infrastructure for CO2, alongside the implementation of existing regulations such as the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) and the Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation. Key topics of interest will be the CO2 transport network and cross-border CO2 transportation, offering valuable insights for participants.
Last year's edition was a resounding success, attracting over 500 in-person attendees and up to 2,600 online participants. Distinguished speakers, including Commissioner Kadri Simson and the then-French Prime Minister François Bayrou, shared their perspectives and engaged in high-level dialogues on the Industrial Carbon Management Strategy and the acceleration of project deployment. The event's impact was palpable, leaving attendees with a renewed sense of purpose and a shared vision for the future.
This year, the ICM Forum is poised to once again captivate and engage its audience. The event will be live-streamed on both days, providing accessibility to a global audience. The live-stream links are as follows:
